Before becoming pregnant with baby #2, I was devoted to using Obagi skincare products, although I’m aware they’re not considered clean. Nevertheless, I loved the results they gave my skin. Dealing with hyperpigmentation has always made me super self-conscious of my skin. However, during pregnancy, I had to switch to cleaner alternatives which became my go-to to maintain my skin’s glow. I’m a stickler for my skincare routine, particularly for washing my face before bed. So, if you’re curious, here’s a peek into my routine…
AT NIGHT
Before bedtime, I start a cleansing ritual with my latest obsession: Eminence, an all-organic skincare line. Their cleansing oil leaves my skin feeling so good. Sometimes, I opt for a double cleanse, pairing it with another favorite product from Eminence. Alternatively, I turn to Tata Harper’s facial scrub (linked below) for a gentle exfoliation. Following cleansing, I spray my face with an orange spritz and apply a toner to purify my skin and get it ready to absorb the serums and creams. After that, I put on my Theraface mask (in bed – obviously) and apply my hand cream and chapstick. The treatment lasts about 9 minutes so I usually take that time to read or listen to a meditation. The instructions recommend using it on a clean face, but let’s be real—I prefer the lazy-girl approach and apply it right after cleansing. Who says skincare routines can’t be a little relaxed, right?
IN THE MORNING
In the morning, my routine is all about efficiency (because I only have about 30 minutes before Luca wakes up). I start by refreshing my face with a splash of cold water, which not only tightens my pores but also helps me feel more awake. Next up, I apply my serums and oils followed by a spritz of orange flower water. I swear the scent instantly put me in a good mood, and as I mist, I set a small intention for the day—a little habit stacking for your girl! After I moisturize, I take a few minutes of gua sha and if I’m dealing with extra puffiness (thanks, early morning dog duty), I reach for my ice roller for some quick relief. I seal everything in with a layer of cream and, of course, sunscreen.I never leave the house without protecting my skin from the sun.
That’s pretty much my facial routine covered! Also, I make sure to dry brush before or after my shower, followed by applying body oil. I’ve recently ordered a gua sha tool for the body, and I can’t wait to incorporate it into my routine (I’ll report back soon)!
